creative inspiration
In 1921, Gabrielle Chanel collaborated with perfumer Ennis Bow to create "a perfume that smelled like a woman." Chanel chose perfume sample No. 5 from the perfume formula she created and retained this number as the name of the perfume. For her new fragrance, she chose a simple bottle, decorated with a white label and a diamond-faceted cap.
In 1986, Jacques Bogi inherited the olfactory atmosphere of Ennis Bo's classic creation N°5, reinterpreted it, and launched No. 5 perfume with richer layers.
Top notes are Aldehydes, Ylang-Ylang, Neroli, Bergamot and Peach;
middle notes are Iris, Jasmine, Rose and Lily-of-the-Valley;
base notes are Sandalwood, Vanilla, Oakmoss, Vetiver and Patchouli.
